Winged Spear (Winged Spear) - Cold Steel Man-at-Arms Series

The medieval man-at-arms was a brave, loyal fighter full of martial heroism, who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. He was a veteran of countless battles, often the first to throw himself into the fray. In honour of these rugged, devoted itinerant soldiers, Cold Steel created the Man at Arms (MAA) weapons collection.

Compared with Cold Steel's premium versions, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual shiny blades and silver-polished steel elements, but in quality and performance the products of the MAA series come close to the other products. The fully sharpened, blued blades are characterised by their unmistakable gun-metal look, which harmonises perfectly with the handles. And when properly oiled, they reveal their inherent, radiant beauty. The Man at Arms collection offers a selection of some of the finest Cold Steel blades, but at a significantly lower price. If you have always wanted to own an edged weapon from Cold Steel but could never afford one, then this collection is made for you.

The spear with wings (Wing Spear or Winged Spear) is a true product of the battlefield. Its blade is broad and sharp enough to be used as a lance, and its considerable wings serve to catch and immobilise the opponent's limbs, hook his shield or ward off his weapons. After countless hours of training and experimentation, Cold Steel's president Lynn C. Thompson and his sparring partners discovered many subtle nuances in the handling of this surprisingly versatile weapon. Lynn found that the more time one spends making the spear one's own, the more great possibilities arise in sparring and fighting. The tip of the spear can even function on its own as an effective parrying dagger and short sword! If you are a martial artist, are interested in the arts of the battlefield, or have a passion for historical re-enactment, we warmly recommend that you acquire a Cold Steel Winged Spear.
