The medieval man-at-arms (man-at-arms) was a brave, loyal fighter full of martial heroism, who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. He was a veteran of countless battles who often threw himself into the fray first. In honour of these rugged, devoted itinerant soldiers, Cold Steel created the Man at Arms (MAA) weapons collection.

Compared with Cold Steel's premium versions, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual shiny blades and silver-polished steel elements, but in quality and performance the products of the MAA series come close to the other products. The fully sharpened, blued blades are distinguished by their unmistakable gun-metal look, which harmonises perfectly with the handles. And when properly oiled, they reveal their inherent, radiant beauty. The Man at Arms collection offers a selection of some of the finest Cold Steel blades, but at a significantly lower price. If you have always wanted to own a bladed weapon from the house of Cold Steel but could never afford one until now, this collection is made for you.

When used from horseback, the Lance Point Spear, as its name suggests (lance point), is a formidable weapon. Historically it was used by German, French, British and Indian cavalry troops and could effortlessly pierce armour and impale the opponent. During the research and development phase, the penetrating power that the hollow-ground, spring-hardened triangular blade of the Lance Point Spear achieved in tests repeatedly amazed Cold Steel employees. The spear could punch through hard objects with the slightest effort and inflict devastating wounds. Whether used on horseback or on foot, or even as a throwing weapon, it was fast, nimble and incredibly effective!
