European Boar Spear, hunting spear by Cold Steel (MAA series)

The medieval man-at-arms was a brave, loyal fighter full of martial heroism, who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. He was a veteran of countless battles, often the first to throw himself into the fray. In honour of these rugged, devoted itinerant soldiers, Cold Steel created the Man at Arms (MAA) weapons collection. Compared with Cold Steel's premium versions, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual shiny blades and silver-polished steel elements, but in quality and performance the products of the MAA series come close to the other products. The fully sharpened, blued blades are characterised by their unmistakable gun-metal look, which harmonises perfectly with the handles. And when properly oiled, they reveal their inherent, radiant beauty.

The Man at Arms collection offers a selection of some of the finest Cold Steel blades, but at a significantly lower price. If you have always wanted to own an edged weapon from Cold Steel but could never afford one, then this collection is made for you. Cold Steel's European Boar Spear (boar spear) is inspired by the old Germanic hunting spears. With its characteristically broad, oversized, double-edged point and its clearly protruding guard element, it is a highly efficient example of the legendary hunting tool. With its stately, leaf-shaped double-edged blade and pronounced reinforcing rib, this hunting spear can thrust and cut with astonishing ease. When the spear is used against dangerous game, the strong guard element prevents it from penetrating too deeply. They are also excellent aids for parrying and catching.

The European Boar Spear, completed by a stately, sturdy shaft of premium American ash wood, will without any doubt be very popular with big-game hunters, re-enactors and historical European martial artists.
