According to its own statements, this lever-action rifle was built by Ruger with great pride and the utmost attention to every detail. For this reason you get the same long-proven design as the predecessor model "1895", together with Ruger's good reputation for making high-quality, reliable firearms.

Improved manufacturing processes make very tight tolerances possible, which gives this attractive rifle its reliability. Multi-stage inspection procedures, including daily function and accuracy tests as well as multiple inspections, result in a high-quality product.

Receiver, under-lever and trigger guard plate are CNC precision-machined from forged 416 steel.
The 410 stainless steel barrel is cold hammer-forged, which results in super-accurate rifling with exceptional precision and longevity.
11/16“ x 24 muzzle thread with a factory-fitted thread protector for attaching barrel accessories such as a suppressor or muzzle brake.
6-round tubular magazine with loading gate in the receiver.
Soft rubber buttpad effectively absorbs recoil.
Safe, manually operated push-button cross-bolt safety and a hammer sitting in the traditional (half-cock) position.
Reliable feeding of a wide range of .45-70 Government factory ammunition and various bullet types.
Durable laminated wood butt stock and fore-end remain dimensionally stable even under changing weather conditions.
Oversized under-lever loop allows operation even with thick gloves.
Also included are two sling swivel studs and a side hammer extension (can be mounted on the right or left side).

With the reintroduction of this icon, Ruger improved several features:

• The rear "ghost ring" sight is adjustable for elevation and windage.

• A state-of-the-art Picatinny rail allows a wide variety of optics to be mounted.

• The spiral-fluted, nickel-plated bolt provides a distinctive, classic look and smooth operation.

• The refined stock shape and slimmer fore-end improve aesthetics and ergonomics.

• Fore-end and pistol grip feature laser-cut checkering. The additionally refined surface treatment provides a superior feel.

• The muzzle thread, with a thread protector matched to the barrel, with its 11/16“ x 24 thread supports the attachment of a suppressor or a muzzle brake.

Other details stand out on this rifle. You can recognise a Marlin® Model 1895 SBL made by Ruger by the following features:

• The place of manufacture on the side of the barrel reads “Mayodan, NC”.

• New "PR" proof mark on the left side of the weapon.

• Marlin® rifles produced by Ruger carry the prefix "RM" before the serial number.

• The Marlin® "horse-and-rider" logo is laser-engraved at the bottom of the receiver.

• The traditional black/white "Marlin® bull's-eye" on the underside of the stock now appears in red/white.
