Das historische Original dieses Anderthalbh�nders wurde zwischen Mitte und Ende des 14. Jahrhunderts datiert. Es wurde im Bodensee, am Dreil�ndereck zwischen �sterreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz gefunden und ist in der Royal Armouries Collection (Objektnummer IX.1106) zu sehen. Ritterschwerter wie dieses wurden in der zweiten H�lfte des 14. Jahrhunderts in ganz Europa verwendet. Einsatz fanden sie zum Beispiel bei der Schlacht von Sempach im Jahre 1386.

Dieses Bastardschwert hat eine steife, spitz zulaufende, zweischneidige Klinge mit einem spitzen Ort und ein Griffst�ck, das ein- oder zweih�ndig gef�hrt werden kann. Die Klinge hat einen einfachen, abgeflachten, rautenf�rmigen Querschnitt. Der imposante, gro�e Scheibenknauf hingegen weist eine komplexe und raffinierte Formgebung auf.

Dieser Schwerttyp wurde vermutlich von gepanzerten M�nnern und Rittern verwendet, in der Regel einh�ndig zu Pferd oder zweih�ndig zu Fu�. Dieses Schwert scheint aufgrund der bemerkenswerten Biegesteifheit und Masse der Klinge ganz auf den gepanzerten Kampf und das Halfswording (das Greifen der Klinge mit einer Hand) ausgelegt zu sein. In puncto Schneidengeometrie war die Klinge weniger f�rs Schneiden gedacht, hatte aber eine gro�e Pr�senz im Schlag. Ebenso konnte der schwere Knauf effizient f�r Hiebe im Nahkampf eingesetzt werden.

Die Klinge dieser Replik wurde von einem erfahrenen Schmied handgefertigt. Sie besteht aus 1080er Kohlenstoffstahl, wurde geh�rtet und ist f�r eine optimale Gewichtsverteilung distal verj�ngt.

Die Scheide mit Holzkern ist mit Leder bezogen. Die Spitze ist mit einem Ortblech aus Messing verst�rkt, welches mit einer f�r die Zeit typischen Aussparung verziert ist. Am Mund bedeckt das Leder einen Teil der Parierstange in H�he der Fehlsch�rfe.

Im Lieferumfang sind ein Echtheitszertifikat und ein Poliertuch enthalten.
