Cold Steel® Man at Arms (MAA) Gothic Mace

The medieval man-at-arms was a brave, loyal fighter full of martial heroism, who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. He was a veteran of countless battles, often the first to throw himself into the fray. In honour of these rugged, devoted itinerant soldiers, Cold Steel® created the Man at Arms weapons collection. Compared with Cold Steel's® premium versions, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual silver-polished steel elements, but in quality and performance the products of the MAA series come close to the other products. And when properly oiled, they reveal their inherent, radiant beauty. The Man at Arms collection offers a selection of some of the finest Cold Steel® products, but at a significantly lower price. If you have always wanted to own an edged weapon from Cold Steel® but could never afford one, then this collection is made for you.

Cold Steel® is proud to expand its Man at Arms collection of historically inspired weapons with this impressive mace in the Germanic style.

This modern interpretation of a classic Gothic mace has been handcrafted from 1055 carbon steel. It features a thick-walled hollow steel handle and a hefty pommel that forms a good counterweight to the heavy head.

The MAA Gothic Mace is designed for combat against enemies in heavy armour and has six steel flanges. Each flange is profiled and tapers in a wedge shape, both to save weight and to give the impact a little more 'bite'. This mace could dent or smash even the sturdiest plate armour, and thanks to the pointed end piece crowning the head it can also be used as a thrusting weapon. It can be wielded with one hand or two and is light enough to be swung quickly, yet strong enough to block, parry and of course deliver devastating blows!

With its deep black blued finish and its handle with hand-stitched leather wrap, this beautiful mace is without doubt a highly interesting addition to the collection of any HEMA martial artist, historical re-enactor or weapons enthusiast.
