Böker Plus Cataclyst 42 Flipjoint

The Böker Plus Cataclyst Flipjoint is convincing in every respect as a combination of a modern EDC and a high-quality gentleman's accessory, also as a slipjoint knife. In this version, too, the blade opens with playful ease via the flipper, but does not lock when open; it is merely held securely in position by a detent ball. With appropriate pressure on the blade spine, the blade can be folded without releasing a locking device.

So that there are no doubts when carrying the Cataclyst Flipjoint, a declaratory decision on the classification under weapons law of a knife with a ball-detent blade retention was expressly drawn up. The BKA (declaratory decision Z-524) shares the view that the blade retention by means of the detent ball does not constitute a locking device within the meaning of the Weapons Act: "The ball detent of the blade installed here, which releases even under light finger pressure on the blade spine, does not meet the criteria of a manual locking device."

The sturdy blade of satin-finished 440C has a flat grind and a fuller on both sides. The serrations in the area of the thumb rest and on the spacer also increase working safety. The straightforward construction is fitted with textured handle scales of black G10, which are three-dimensionally milled and have weight-reducing recesses on the inside. With deep-carry clip (tip-up, right-hand) and lanyard eyelet.
