Das damaszener Wikingerschwert ist aus Cold Steels® feinstem Damaststahl handgeschmiedet und wird vollgeschärft geliefert. Es besticht durch seine prachtvolle Ausstattung. Jedes Stück besitzt einen wunderschönen Holzgriff. Parier und Knauf sind im typischen Wikingerstil gestaltet und wurden auf Hochglanz poliert. Wie bei den wikingerzeitlichen Vorbildern bestehen sie aus abwechselnd übereinander geschichteten Messing- und Stahllagen.

Geliefert wird das Schwert in einer eindrucksvollen Scheide aus Holz und Leder mit Gürtelschlaufe. Mundblech und Ortband sind aus Messing gefertigt und mit schönen Prägungen verziert.

Damaszener Stahl
Der Begriff Damaszener Stahl, Damaststahl oder einfach nur Damast bezeichnet einen Verbundstahl aus zwei oder mehreren unterschiedlichen Stahlsorten. Der Name leitet sich von der syrischen Stadt Damaskus ab, die als einstige Hochburg und Ursprung der Damaststahlerzeugung gilt. In der Regel werden ein harter, kohlenstoffreicher und ein weicher, kohlenstoffarmer Stahl durch wiederholtes Feuerschweißen und Falten zusammengebracht. Der kohlenstoffreiche Stahl sorgt für eine größere Härte, bessere Härtbarkeit und längere Schnitthaltigkeit, während der weichere Stahl der Klinge eine höhere Elastizität und größere Bruchfestigkeit verleiht. Mit dieser Technik, die in einer Zeit schlechter und wechselnder Stahlqualitäten entstand, kann man also die positiven Eigenschaften der unterschiedlichen Stähle verbinden. Aufgrund der verschiedenen Färbungen bei variierendem Kohlenstoffgehalt entstehen zudem eindrucksvolle Muster der sich abwechselnden Lagen. Nicht zuletzt aufgrund dieser Muster wurde den Damastklingen des Mittelalters eine ihnen innewohnende Magie zugesprochen.
