Das Steel Tiger® ist eine durchaus moderne taktische Interpretation des indonesischen Karambit-Messers. Dieses Messer ist das Ergebnis der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Lynn C. Thompson und dem mittlerweile verstorbenen Messermacher Steven Likarisch. Deren Ziel war, all die besten Eigenschaften dieses hakenförmigen Klassikers mit modernen Materialien und Designelementen harmonisch zu verbinden.

Seine stark gebogene und extrem spitze Klinge aus AUS 8A-Edelstahl mit Stonewash-Finish wurde vakuumgehärtet und tieftemperaturbehandelt, verfügt über einen Scandi-Schliff, und weist somit maximale Stärke, Schneidkraft, Schnitthaltigkeit und Leistungsfähigkeit auf.

Die Angel ist von einem strapazierfähigen Kern aus Griv-Ex™ vollständig ummantelt, der beim Kropf, bei der Daumenauflage und beim imposanten Knaufring sichtbar ist. Dieser Griv-Ex™-Kern wurde anschließend durch Spritzgussverfahren mit erstklassigem Kray-Ex™ überzogen. Sogar bei Kälte oder Nässe sorgt diese Kray-Ex™-Schicht für ausgezeichnete Rutschfestigkeit.

Zum Steel Tiger® gehört eine Secure-Ex®-Scheide im Militärstil, die für Sicherheit und Komfort sorgt. Das Messer kannst Du somit an Deiner Ausrüstung festgebunden oder mithilfe vom abnehmbaren Clip am Stiefel oder Gürtel tragen.

Edelstahl AUS 8A
Cold Steel® verwendet den gleichen fachmännisch gehärteten japanischen AUS 8A-Stahl seit nunmehr fast drei Jahrzehnten. Dieser Stahl ist außerordentlich gut erprobt und hat in all den Jahren bewiesen, dass er sich in exzellenter Weise zur Klingenherstellung von Arbeitsmessern eignet: Er ist zäh und korrosionsbeständig bei guter Schnitthaltigkeit und zudem leicht zu schärfen.
