Item no. CST-20PC Finn Bear, Outdoor Knife
The Finn Bear was designed after its Finnish model. It is an ideal companion in the great outdoors and is equally convincing as a general-purpose knife!
Its blade of stainless steel 4116 has been cryogenically treated, hollow ground and hardened to approx. 56-57 HRC. It therefore has good edge strength, but can also be resharpened without problems in the field. It also has a robust point for piercing and plenty of belly for skinning and cutting. It is large and sturdy enough to skin game, but also thin and delicate enough to slice a tomato or cut up an apple.
For better traction, the polypropylene handle has a slightly ribbed texture. With its diamond-shaped cross-section it allows a variety of grip techniques and will fit your hand as if made for it.
For safe and comfortable carrying, the Finn Bear comes with a pouch-style, unobtrusive, versatile polymer sheath. This means it can easily be worn on the belt or stowed in your rucksack or your tackle box.
Stainless knife steel 4116
4116 steel is a fine-grained, stainless knife steel. It is often used for pharmaceutical equipment and for high-quality kitchen knives. Its balanced carbon-to-chromium ratio provides both first-class corrosion resistance and great strength. Very fine, extremely sharp edges can be ground. An excellent choice for outdoor/hunting knives and kitchen knives and utensils.
